IPWatchdog will host the Fifth Annual Patent Trial & Appeal Board (PTAB) Masters™ program from January 27-29, 2025 at IPWatchdog Studios in Ashburn, VA, approximately 10 minutes from Dulles International Airport. This high-level, interactive, limited enrollment program will include discussions on all aspects of the PTAB practice led by highly experienced practitioners and top thought leaders in the industry. We are also pleased to announce the participation of PTAB Chief Judge Scott Boalick, Vice-Chief Judge Melissa Haapala, Vice-Chief Judge Michael Kim, Vice-Chief Judge Michael Tierney, and Administrative Patent Judge Grace Obermann.
We have so far identified several possible panel topics for discussion. We are looking for comment and feedback on these topics, including any subtopics that should be incorporated into each panel discussion. We are also looking for speakers available to participate in person, as well as sponsors. Interested speakers should have a “master’s level” understanding of the issues, which generally requires a minimum of 12 years of relevant industry experience.
In no particular order, the topics under consideration are:
- The PTAB Today: An Overview of the Current PTAB Landscape
- PTAB Review: The Most Important Decisions of 2024
- PTAB Reform: PREVAIL and the Future of PTAB Proceedings in a Trump PTO
- Navigating Parallel Patent Challenges at the PTAB and in Federal Court
- Winning Strategies for Patent Owners at the PTAB
